What is Cert III in Hospitality about?

This nationally recognised qualification is highly sought after across the entire  hospitality industries. This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in skilled operations with the need to apply discretion and judgement.

You will gain the knowledge and understanding of how to work effectively with others, how to source and use information in the hospitality industry and to work effectively in hospitality service. Providing a great service to customers and understanding social and cultural sensitivity is valuable learning in this working environment. Understanding how to coach others in job skills, along with hygiene and safe work practices will enhance your knowledge and skills. Processing financial transactions, providing your customers with advice on food and beverages are subjects covered in this certification. Safe food handling practices, communication in the workplace and calculations are designed to build your skills to becoming proficient in your career.


Training Style

On-site at your workplace –  Our trainer will visit each participant at your workplace for a maximum of 1 hour each visit. We take you through the requirements one unit at a time. You then complete the work at your own pace. We work with you through all the 15 units required for this certification. This certification  requires each students to also complete 36 hours work experience by log book and signed off by a supervisor.

How long does it take? Every student works at a different pace, our trainers work with you and your employer to individually customize your training pace.

At EDB training facilities –  This course is offered in conjunction with the QLD Government Certificate 3 Guarantee program for eligible Queenslanders. EDB Training run theory and practical for Hospitality in a training room environment, this course is designed to work with teams learning the 15 units as well as hands on practical hospitality experience. This certification  requires each students to also complete 36 hours work experience by log book and signed off by a supervisor.
