An Elevated Work Platform (EWP) licence is an essential certification for individuals operating machinery designed to lift workers to elevated positions. These platforms, such as boom lifts and scissor lifts, are critical for completing tasks at height in industries like construction, maintenance, and logistics. In Queensland, safety regulations mandate an EWP licence for anyone operating a boom-type platform with a height exceeding 11 meters. This licence ensures operators are trained to manage these machines safely and efficiently, reducing risks on worksites. Earning an EWP licence demonstrates a commitment to safety and compliance, making it an invaluable qualification for workers in Queensland.
Queensland’s worksites often involve projects that require working at height, whether in construction, maintenance, or industrial settings. Without trained operators, the risk of accidents increases significantly, endangering both workers and bystanders.
An EWP licence is more than just a regulatory requirement—it’s a critical tool for maintaining safety and efficiency on the job. Trained and licensed operators are equipped to identify hazards, operate machinery safely, and respond effectively to emergencies. For employers, hiring licensed workers reduces liability, improves project outcomes, and ensures compliance with Queensland workplace safety laws.
Licensed operators contribute to a culture of safety, which is vital in high-risk environments. By adhering to the highest standards, Queensland worksites can achieve greater productivity, lower accident rates, and an overall safer working environment.
