Whether you’re an individual looking to upgrade your skills or a business needing to train multiple employees, we provide the knowledge and hands-on experience necessary to succeed.

Understanding the Importance of an EWP Licence

An EWP licence is required for individuals who operate high-risk machinery like boom lifts, scissor lifts, or cherry pickers, particularly for platforms over 11 meters in height. In Queensland, this is a legal requirement under the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 (Qld). Obtaining a valid EWP licence ensures that operators have the necessary skills and knowledge to use this equipment safely and effectively, reducing the risk of accidents on the job. In Sheldon, where industries such as construction, landscaping, maintenance, and warehousing commonly rely on elevated work platforms, it is critical that operators are fully trained and licensed. An EWP licence not only ensures compliance with legislation but also guarantees that the operator is aware of all safety protocols to protect themselves and others in the workplace.

Why Adhering to Queensland Laws Is Crucial

Adhering to Queensland’s workplace laws regarding EWP operations is vital for both individual operators and businesses. Under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, employers and workers have a shared responsibility to ensure that high-risk equipment is used safely. This includes ensuring that all operators are properly trained and licensed. Failure to comply with these laws can have serious consequences. For individuals, operating an EWP without the correct licence can result in hefty fines, loss of employment opportunities, and potential legal action in the case of an accident. For businesses, not having licensed operators can lead to work stoppages, fines, and significant damage to a company’s reputation. Most importantly, failing to adhere to safety regulations could result in injury or even fatality, making proper training and compliance a top priority.
